Phoebe is the main female character in my story and serves as the love interest of the other main character, Michael. She is depicted as a highly musical individual with a cool, friendly, and kind-hearted personality. Phoebe takes on the role of the lead singer and backup rhythm guitarist in her band, where she often participates in small gigs alongside her bandmates.

bonus info!: Phoebe is a name I chose inspired by the word "phone" considering the first three letters are the same. this is a play on words as michael is often associated and depicted with his phone a lot. I thought it was a cute concept to have their names juxtapose each other in this manner.
the "be" in "Phoebe" also sounds like "Bea" like in beabadoobee -THe artist of the song "cologne" that I am making amusic video for- i found the name to be a particularly fitting for her.

Michael is the male main character in my story. He is partially deaf and depicts a polite and bashful personality. after meeting Phoebe, he discovered that he could enjoy music through vibrations. He developed a crush on Phoebe ever since due to her sweet and charming personality. Michael is eager to try to meet her again after being invited to one of her upcoming gigs.

mOON IS THE BASS GUITARIST OF THE BAND. SHE DEPICTS A COOL, MYSTERIOUS AND ELEGANT PERSONALITY PAIRED WITH A UNIQUE AND CAPTIVATING FASHION TASTE.

bonus info!: Moon's character is based on a puppy that me and my younger sister named during our trip to the Philippines. Moon was one puppy from a litter that we were able to distinguish by the patches of color around her eyes that we thought looked like goggles. Moon's personality was quiet and conservative; we often found her going off alone some place to lie down and relax. She was very calm and well-mannered compared to the rest of the litter, which inspired me to depict Moon as elegant and not very talkative. My choice for making the bandmates inspired by puppies was to include some personal moments in the project.

Pao is the drummer of the band. pao depicts an upbeat and goofy personality.

bonus info!: Pao's character is based on a puppy that we met and named during our trip to the Philippines. pao's name is a shortened version of the puppy's name "Siopao" siopao is a Philippine steamed bun. siopao was one of the puppies from the litter. sioPao's personality was very upbeat and friendly when I first met her. she was also often very sleepy as she took a lot of naps around the house.

I was inspired to make Pao's personality quite silly and humorous as one time, we found siopao managed to get herself stuck between two of our luggages, which we found pretty funny.

rocko is the lead guitarist of the band. he is the youngest out of the band members and depicts an immature yet charismatic personality.

bonus info!: Rocko's character is based on a puppy that we met and named during our trip to the Philippines. Rocko was the smallest puppy out of the whole litter, hence why I decided to make his character the youngest out of the band. rocko's personality was very energetic and rowdy when I first met her as she liked to rough house with her siblings a lot. which inspired me to make rocko's personality somewhat immature and lively. despite rocko's rowdiness, rocko was the most sociable and friendly to us, inspiring me to depict rocko with an extroverted personality.

PHOTOSHOP EDITING PROCESS

After reviewing some primary source references from my photoshoot, I noticed that I didn't quite like the background shadows and the outer surrounding environment behind the white dropdown. Consequently, I chose to edit the photos that I found most appealing using Photoshop to achieve a cleaner background.

To get rid of the surrounding environment, I cropped out the unecessary parts of the background.

Now the image is cropped to my liking.

Step 7: Paint background

By painting on the under layer, I am able to paint in the background using the brush tool to get a full white background.

THE PHOTOSHOOT

THE STUDIO

In our photoshoot we used a white soft box to emit light onto the background. The background we used was a white backdrop used for a professional and clear background. We used a professional flash light with the reflector which was synchronized to the Wav Trigger. The Wav Trigger was placed on top of the DSLR camera to synchronize with a light source. We then downloaded our photos as a JPEG format from the SD card and uploaded them in a storage file.

I am very pleased with the photos I took during the photoshoot. I managed to get a variety of photos that that serve as references that accurately express my characters personalities and body language, with the help of some friends being my models. I also made sure to take photo's of extra poses that I can use for potential references in future work.
