Storyboarding

I used Procreate to sketch frames and scenes for my story. Before creating my storyboard, I wrote down annotations and notes next to the song lyrics to help me visualize the scenes and stay organized. I also jotted down ideas for characters and details for my music video. I wanted to finalize my ideas before focusing on the visual aspects of the video.

Song/audio used

I will be using the song "Cologne" made by artist Beabadoobee for my animated music video.

I used Capcut to edit and trim the audio I'm animating to. After that, I brought the mp3 audio into my animation platform to sync with the animation.

Storyboard

-STart- scene starts off in a backstage dressing room. Pao sets down a bottle of water onto the table.

Pao exits to the right.

Michael scrolls up unlocking his phone, opening ip to a social media post advertsing an online poster for a concert.

Michael's expression turns into a panicked state after realising he's 30 mins late to the concert.

SHE GETS AN IDEA.

phoebe goes over to grab his hand.

she brings his hand over to the speaker of the keyboard.

she places his hand on the speaker.

SHE PLAYS A TUNE.

vibrations run through michael's hand as she plays a tune.

michael is in shock by the feeling of musical vibrations.

HE LOOKS OVER TO PHOEBE.

phoebe gives him a warm smile, LOOKING BEAUTIFUL IN THE MOMENT.

SCENE CHANGES TO MICHAEL.

MICHAEL HEATS UP IN A FLUSTERED MANNER.

Scene changes to Michael at home, wrapped in a blanket on his bed, looking down at his phone.

THE ANGLE CHANGES TO A VIEW OF MICHAEL LOOKING DOWN AT HIS PHONE.

It zooms in on his phone, showing the contacts app open on his screen.

scene changes to michael remembering phoebe holding her phone up to him.

he remembers her showing an online poster to him about her upcoming gig.

he face-palms in frustration for not asking for her contact details.

scene changes back to present time, the band are playing.

michael gulps in anticipation.

michael continues to watch the performance.

he looks down to his phone.

musical outro begins. the band members are shown playing their respective instrument. rocko is shredding the guitar.

the hand pushes him forward.

He looks forward and realizes the band had finished their song and taken their bows.

michael looks at the stage in a panicked state.

he starts rushing forward towards the backstage doors.

he excuses himself past crowds of people.

setting changes to the backstage doors.

michael bursts through the doors.

he steps in through the doors and halts.

he looks up.

Phoebe is seen packing up with her instrument, ready to leave with her fellow bandmates. bandmates.

she notices michael by the doors

she smiles at being able to see him again.

The angle changes to Michael's hand panning over his phone with the "add new contact" screen open. -fin-

FINISHED FINAL STORYBOARD/ANIMATIC.

I used the app Procreate dreams to draw and map out the storyboard for my animated music video. this finished animatic will act as a base later on for when I animate the tie downs on top.
